Netflix has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original limited series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story starring India Amarteifio.
All six episodes of the limited series will be available on Thursday, May 4.
Centered on Queen Charlotte's rise to prominence and power, this Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen's (Amarteifio) marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.
Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemmell reprise their Bridgerton roles in the series.
In addition to Amarteifio, the series also stars Michelle Fairley, Corey Mylchreest, Arsema Thomas, Sam Clemmett, Freddie Dennis, Richard Cunningham, Tunji Kasim, Rob Maloney, Cyril Nri and Hugh Sachs.
Shonda Rhimes created the series. She executive produces with Betsy Beers and director Tom Verica. Shondaland produces in association with Netflix.
