The CW Continues International Acquisitions with Pickups for 'Moonshine' and 'Run the Burbs'

The CW has today made two more international acquisitions - picking up the stateside rights to the Canadian drama Moonshine and the Canadian comedy Run the Burbs. Both shows are slated to air their first seasons this summer on the broadcast network.

Moonshine is an epic tale of lust, legacy and lobster, set against the backdrop of financial hardship, small town intrigue and a long-buried secret that threatens to annihilate the Finley-Cullen family once and for all.

The drama stars Jennifer Finnigan, Corrine Koslo, Peter MacNeill, Anastasia Phillips, Emma Hunter, Alexander Nunez and Tom Stevens.

Sheri Elwood created the drama. She executive produces with Charles Bishop and Jocelyn Hamilton. Entertainment One and Six Eleven Media produce.

The drama has aired for two seasons on the CBC. The first season features eight episodes and the second season also features eight episodes.

Run the Burbs follows the Phams, a young, bold Vietnamese-South Asian family taking a different approach to living life to the fullest, while changing the way we think about contemporary family values and life in the burbs. Often the instigators of community events and always the first to know what's going on in the neighborhood, the Phams have become the heart of their cul-de-sac. Through all the challenges and stresses of everyday suburban life, the Phams take on the world as a cohesive unit. Because together, nothing can beat phamily.

The comedy stars Andrew Phung, Rahkee Morzaria, Zoriah Wong and Roman Pesino.

Phung co-created the comedy with Scott Townend. They executive produce with Shebli Zarghami, Aleysa Young, Laszlo Barna, Nicole Butler, Bill Lundy and Karen Tsang. Pier 21 Films and Fifth Season produce.

The comedy has aired for two seasons on the CBC. The first season produced twelve episodes and the second season produced thirteen episodes.
