Netflix has today renewed its original drama series The Diplomat for a second season. The quick renewal comes after the 8-episode first season was released on April 20, 2023.
The drama stars Keri Russell, Rufus Sewell, David Gyasi, Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear and Ato Essandoh.
Debora Cahn created the drama. She executive produces with Russell, Janice Williams and Simon Cellan Jones.
"Fans around the world are loving every minute of The Diplomat's gripping and propulsive drama, and embracing Keri Russell's powerful performance as Kate Wyler," said Jinny Howe, Vice President of Drama Series, Netflix. "After that jaw-dropping cliffhanger, we can't wait for them to see what the amazing visionary team of Debora Cahn, Janice Williams and Keri Russell have in store for Season 2."
