The CW Picks Up Three Seasons of Drama 'The Chosen' Starring Jonathan Roumie

The CW has today picked up the first three seasons of the original drama series The Chosen starring Jonathan Roumie. The broadcast network has also announced a premiere date for the drama.






The drama will begin its run on Sunday, July 16 at 8/7c. and will continue airing episodes through the fall, with the season three finale airing on Christmas Eve.

Set against the backdrop of Jewish oppression in first-century Israel, the series shares an authentic and intimate look at Jesus' (Roumie) revolutionary life and teachings.

In addition to Roumie, the drama stars Shahar Isaac, Elizabeth Tabish, Paras Patel, Noah James, Janis Dardaris, Lara Silva, Shaan Sharma, Nick Shakoour, George H. Xanthis, Abe Bueno-Jallad, Erick Avari, Brandon Potter, Kirk B.R. Woller, Giavani Cairo, Jordan Walker Ross, Joey Vahedi, Yasmine Al-Bustami, Vanessa Benavente, Yoshi Barrigas, Austin Reed Alleman, Alaa Safi, Luke Dimyan, Ivan Jasso, Amber Shana Williams and Elijah Alexander. 

Dallas Jenkins created the drama. He executive produces with Derral Eves, Matthew Faraci, Ryan Swanson, Tyler Thompson and Brad Pelo. Lionsgate Television, Angel Studios, Loaves & Fishes Productions and Out of Order Studios produce. The drama's fourth season is currently in production.
