Paramount+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Special Ops: Lioness starring Zoe Saldaña.
The first season will launch on Sunday, July 23.
Inspired by an actual U.S. Military program, the drama follows the life of Joe (Saldaña) while she attempts to balance her personal and professional life as the tip of the CIA's spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program, overseen by Kaitlyn Meade and Donald Westfield, enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the CIA's efforts to thwart the next 9/11.
In addition to Saldaña, the drama stars Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur, Hannah Love Lanier, Nicole Kidman and Morgan Freeman.
Taylor Sheridan created the drama. He executive produces with Saldaña, Kidman, Wagner, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone and John Hillcoat. MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Blossom Films produce.
