Showtime Acquires British Dramedy 'Dreaming Whilst Black' Created by and Starring Adjani Salmon

Showtime has today acquired the stateside broadcast rights to the original British dramedy series Dreaming Whilst Black created by and starring Adjani Salmon. 






The six-episode first season will be available to stream on Paramount+ With Showtime on Friday, September 8. Meanwhile, the season will begin its linear debut on Sunday, September 10 at 10/9c. with back-to-back episodes on Showtime. 

Loosely inspired by real-life events, Kwabena (Salmon) is an aspiring filmmaker stuck in a dead-end recruitment job who takes the first step to achieving his dream. However, he is quickly confronted with the tribulations of balancing finances, love and his own sense of reality.

In addition to Salmon, the dramedy stars Dani Moseley, Demmy Ladipo, Rachel Adedeji, Babirye Bukilwa, Alexander Owen and Will Hislop.

Salmon co-created the series with Ali Hughes and Yemi Oyefuwa. They executive produce with Dhanny Joshi and Thomas Stogdon. A24 and Big Deal Films produce.

The series originally aired on BBC Three in the United Kingdom this summer.
