HBO has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming fourth installment of its original anthology drama series True Detective.
The six-episode fourth installment - titled True Detective: Night Country - will premiere on Sunday, January 14 at 9/8c.
When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers and Evangeline Navarro will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
The new season stars Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc and John Hawkes.
Guest stars include Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, June Thiele, Diane Benson and Joel D. Montgrand.
Issa López serves as showrunner, writer and director of the new installment. She also executive produces with Foster, Mari Jo Winkler, Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, Mark Ceryak, Chris Mundy, Alan Page Arriaga, Steve Golin, Richard Brown, Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga and Nic Pizzolatto.
