AppleTV+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Criminal Record starring Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo.
The 8-episode first season will launch on Friday, January 12 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday until the season finale on February 23.
Set in the heart of contemporary London, an anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives into a confrontation over an old murder case - one a young woman in the early stages of her career (Jumbo), the other a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy (Capaldi). The series touches on issues of race, institutional failure and the quest to find common ground in a polarized Britain.
In addition to Capaldi and Jumbo, the drama stars Charlie Creed-Miles, Dionne Brown, Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore, Zoë Wanamaker, Rasaq Kukoyi, Maisie Ayres, Aysha Kala, Cathy Tyson and Tom Moutchi.
Paul Rutman created the drama. He executive produces with Capaldi, Jumbo, Elaine Collins and director Jim Loach. Tod Productions and STV Studios produce.
