Netflix has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Ripley starring Andrew Scott, Dakota Fanning and Johnny Flynn.
All 8 episodes of the first season will be available on Thursday, April 4.
Tom Ripley (Scott), a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son (Flynn) to return home. Tom's acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.
In addition to Scott, Fanning and Flynn, the drama stars Elliot Sumner, Maurizio Lombardi, Margherita Buy and John Malkovich.
Steven Zaillian wrote and directed all 8 episodes of the drama based on the "Tom Ripley" novels by Patricia Highsmith. He executive produces with Garrett Basch, Clayton Townsend, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Sharon Levy and Philipp Keel. Scott serves as a producer. Endemol Shine North America, Entertainment 360 and Filmrights produce.
