During the network's presentation today at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, AMC announced the premiere date for the upcoming second season of its original drama series Interview With the Vampire.
The 8-episode second season will launch on Sunday, May 12 at 9/8c.
Based on the novel by Anne Rice, the second season picks up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia conspired to kill the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the vampire Armand. Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories.
The drama stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles and Assad Zaman.
Recurring guest stars in the new season include Ben Daniels, David Costabile, Roxane Duran and Bally Gill.
Rolin Jones developed the drama. He executive produces with Mark Johnson, Mark Taylor, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice. AMC Studios and Gran Via Productions produce.
