Netflix has today renewed its original drama series Avatar: The Last Airbender for two additional seasons - its second and third, respectively. The streamer also noted that the drama will come to an end after three seasons. The renewal comes after the first season debuted on February 22, 2024.
The drama stars Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Elizabeth Yu, Ken Leung, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee and Daniel Dae Kim.
Albert Kim developed the live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon animated series. He executive produces with Jabbar Raisani, Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore and Michael Goi. Nickelodeon Pictures, Rideback and Albert Kim Pictures produce.
Episode counts and additional details for the second and third seasons will be announced at a later date. The drama concluding after three seasons mirrors the run of the original series, which aired for 61 episodes between February 2005 and July 2008.
The streamer notes that the 8-episode first season has received over 41.1 million views in its first 11 days of availability.
