Netflix has today become a co-producer on the upcoming original drama series A Good Girl's Guide to Murder starring Emma Myers (Wednesday). The six-episode season is currently in post production.
The drama was commissioned by the BBC to air later this year in the UK and Ireland on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. After that linear run, the drama will make its streaming worldwide debut on Netflix.
Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single minded Pip Fitz-Amobi (Myers) isn't so sure and she's determined to prove it. And if Sal Singh isn't a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?
In addition to Myers, the drama stars Zain Iqbal, Anna Maxwell Martin, Gary Beadle, Mathew Baynton, India Lillie Davies, Rahul Pattni, Henry Ashton, Mitu Panicucci, Orla Hill, Ephraim O.P. Sampson, Carla Woodcock, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi, Jackson Bews, Jessica Webber, Matthew Khan, Georgia Aaron, Oliver Wickham, Adam Astill and Annabel Mullion.
Poppy Cogan developed the drama based on the novel by Holly Jackson. The showrunner and author executive produce with Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch, Frith Tiplady, Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, Jonas Melcher and director Dolly Wells. Moonage Pictures and ZDFneo produce in association with the BBC and Netflix.
