CBS has today given a series order to the original drama series Sheriff Country starring Morena Baccarin (Homeland, Gotham) - a spinoff of Fire Country. The drama will debut as part of the broadcast network's 2025-26 schedule.
The drama follows straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox (Baccarin), the stepsister of Cal Fire's division chief Sharon Leone (Fire Country's Diane Farr), who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
Baccarin's character was introduced in the April 12 episode of Fire Country - titled "Alert the Sheriff." The initial episode was written by series creators Tony Phelan and Joan Rater based on a story by Phelan, Rater and star Max Thieriot, who also directed.
Phelan, Rater and Thieriot will executive produce the spinoff with Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed. CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television will produce.
