Disney+ has today given a series order to its latest original series from Marvel - featuring Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision. The series will debut on the streamer sometime in 2026.
Details of the new series are being kept under wraps. The character of Vision was created during 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron by fusing a vibranium-based android with the Mind Stone. He was later killed during 2018's Avengers: Infinity War as Thanos obtained all six of the Infinity Stones. The character was later revived in two separate incarnations during WandaVision - which aired on Disney+ in early 2021. Wanda Maximoff created a new reality with a reanimated Vision through her magic as the Scarlet Witch. That body vanished when she returned Westview back to normal. However, agents of S.W.O.R.D. reactivated Vision's former body which was last seen flying away upon receiving all of his former memories back.
So far, Bettany is the only cast member signed on to reprise his MCU role. It's possible Elizabeth Olsen could return as Wanda given the prominence of their characters' relationship. However, she seemingly perished during 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Furthermore, Terry Matalas (12 Monkeys, Star Trek: Picard) has been tapped to serve as showrunner on the new series. Marvel Television will produce.
