Freevee has today confirmed that it has cancelled its original drama series High School after one season. The 8-episode first season was released in October 2022.
The drama starred Railey Gilliland, Seazynn Gilliland, Esther McGregor, Olivia Rouyre, Amanda Fix, Brianne Tju, Geena Meszaros, Kyle Bornheimer and Cobie Smulders.
Clea DuVall developed the drama based on the memoir by twin sibling musical duo Tegan & Sara. All three executive produced with Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Laura Kittrell and Carina Sposato. Amazon Studios, Plan B Entertainment, Reunion Pacific Entertainment, Libra Head Productions and Meridian & Bigbee Productions produced.
The cancellation comes just two days after Freevee similarly opted not to renew its original comedy series Primo for a second season. Both series received favorable reviews from critics and viewers alike. However, the streaming executive ultimately believed the viewership numbers weren't high enough to justify renewals.
