NBC has today made its decision on the two remaining comedy series awaiting word on their futures. The broadcast network has renewed Lopez vs. Lopez for a third season and cancelled Extended Family after one season.
Lopez vs. Lopez stars George Lopez, Mayan Lopez, Matt Shively, Brice Gonzalez, Selenis Leyva and Al Madrigal.
The father-daughter team of George and Mayan Lopez co-created the comedy with Debby Wolfe and Bruce Helford. They executive produce with Michael Rotenberg and Katie Newman. Universal Television, Mohawk Productions, Travieso Productions, Mi Vida Loba Productions and 3 Arts Entertainment produce.
The comedy has produced 32 episodes across two seasons to date. An episode count for the third season was not immediately announced today.
Extended Family starred Jon Cryer, Donald Faison, Abigail Spencer, Sofia Capanna and Finn Sweeney.
Mike O'Malley created the comedy. He executive produced with Cryer, Tom Werner, Wyc Grousbeck, Emilia Fazzalari, George Geyer, Victor Levin, Victoria Morrow and James Widdoes. Universal Television, Lionsgate Television, Werner Entertainment and O'Malley Ink produced.
The comedy wrapped its 13-episode run on March 26, 2024.
