The original drama series Law & Order: Organized Crime has officially been renewed for a fifth season. As was previously reported though, the drama will be moving to Peacock for its upcoming season after airing its first four seasons on NBC.
The drama stars Christopher Meloni, Danielle Moné Truitt, Ainsley Seiger and Rick Gonzalez.
Notably, John Shiban will return as showrunner for the fifth season. That will make a continuation behind-the-scenes as the drama has been marred by numerous showrunner upheavals throughout its first three seasons. Shiban came aboard at the start of season four.
Meloni and Shiban executive produce the drama alongside Dick Wolf, Paul Cabbad, Jon Cassar, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski. Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment.
The renewal marks the second time a series in the Law & Order franchise originally aired on NBC and later moved to another network later in its run. Law & Order: Criminal Intent debuted on NBC in September 2001 and aired for six seasons on the network. It then moved to USA starting with its seventh season in October 2007 where it produced four additional seasons for ten overall. Furthermore, Organized Crime will become the first Law & Order series to air exclusively on a streaming platform.
