Hulu has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original comedy series How to Die Alone created by and starring Natasha Rothwell.
The 8-episode first season will debut on Friday, September 13 with its first four episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday until the season finale on October 11.
The comedy follows Mel (Rothwell), a broke, fat, Black JFK airport employee who's never been in love and forgotten how to dream, until an accidental brush with death catapults her on a journey to finally take flight and start living by any means necessary.
In addition to Rothwell, the comedy stars Conrad Ricamora, Jocko Sims and KeiLyn Durrel Jones, with recurring guest star Bashir Salahuddin.
Rothwell serves as co-showrunner on the first season alongside Vera Santamaria. They also executive produce with Desiree Akhavan. ABC Signature, Onyx Collective and Big Hattie Productions produce.
