CBS' Fire Country; HBO's The Gilded Age; Showtime's The Chi; and USA's The Rainmaker.
HBO's THE GILDED AGE
- Bill Camp, Merritt Wever, Leslie Uggams, LisaGay Hamilton, Andrea Martin, Paul Alexander Nolan, Hattie Morahan and Jessica Frances Dukes have booked recurring roles on the drama's upcoming third season.
- Camp (Presumed Innocent, The Queen's Gambit) will play JP Morgan, who finds himself at odds with George Russell (Morgan Spector) over the future of the railroad industry.
- Wever (Godless, Unbelievable) will play Monica O'Brien, the estranged sister of Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon).
- Uggams (Roots, Empire) will play Mrs. Ernestine Brown, a friend of Elizabeth Kirkland (Phylicia Rashad) and a member of the Black elite community in Newport.
- Hamilton (The Practice, Winning Time) will play Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, the famed Black suffragist who inspires Peggy (Denée Benton) to become involved in her cause, in spite of the dissenting opinions of those around her.
- Martin (Evil, Pippin) will play Madame Dashkova, a medium who claims to be able to commune with the dead.
- Nolan (Slave Play, Water for Elephants) will play Alfred Merrick, a dashing and wealthy New York businessman.
- Morahan (Fool Me Once, Hijack) will play Lady Sarah Vere, the sister of the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb).
- Dukes (Ozark, Gray Matter) will play Athena Trumbo, Dorothy's (Audra McDonald) beloved first cousin and a part of an elite enclave of Black residents in Newport.
SHOWTIME's THE CHI
- Lynn Whitfield has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming seventh season. She joined the drama as a recurring guest star in its sixth season - appearing in twelve episodes overall. She previously starred for five seasons in OWN's Greenleaf and won an Emmy Award in 1991 for her lead performance in the HBO film The Josephine Baker Story.
- She plays Alicia, an intimidating, fearless and powerful matriarch who is laser-focused on avenging her brothers murder.
USA's THE RAINMAKER
- John Slattery has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming drama based on the novel by John Grisham. He previously starred for seven seasons in AMC's Mad Men, receiving four Emmy Award nominations for his performance. More recently, he starred in the FX limited series Mrs. America and in the sixth season of Paramount+'s The Good Fight.
- He will play Leo F. Drummond, a legendary lion of the courtroom and senior partner at Tinley Britt, the powerful firm that Rudy Baylor is up against.
CBS' FIRE COUNTRY
- Jared Padalecki has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. He previously starred for fifteen seasons in The CW's Supernatural and four seasons in The CW's Walker.
- He will play Camden, a SoCal firefighter and maverick with a surfer swagger who is a force to be reckoned with and immediately recognizes Bode's (Max Thieriot) raw talent.
- CBS Studios produces the drama and already has Padalecki under a deal. The studio is reportedly eying Padalecki's character to headline a new spinoff. Those conversations remain in the early stages though.
