Casting News - Alfred Molina, Geena Davis and Alfre Woodard to Star in Netflix's 'The Boroughs'; Plus 5 More Updates!

AMC's The Talamasca; NBC's Chicago P.D. & The Irrational; Netflix's The Boroughs; Peacock's Poker Face; and USA's The Rainmaker.





NETFLIX's THE BOROUGHS
  • Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O'Hare, Clarke Peters and Bill Pullman will star in the upcoming drama created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews.
  • Molina will play Sam. He has received two Emmy Award nominations for his performances in HBO's The Normal Heart and FX's Feud: Bette and Joan. He has also received three Tony Award nominations for his roles in Art, Fiddler on the Roof and Red.
  • Davis will play Renee. She has received two Academy Award nominations - winning in 1989 for her supporting performance in The Accidental Tourist. She also received an Emmy Award nomination in 2006 for ABC's Commander in Chief.
  • Woodard will play Judy. She received an Academy Award nomination in 1983 for Cross Creek. She has also received 18 Emmy Award nominations - winning for her roles in NBC's Hill Street Blues, NBC's L.A. Law, HBO's Miss Evers' Boys and ABC's The Practice.
  • O'Hare will play Wally. He has received three Emmy Award nominations for his work on FX's American Horror Story and NBC's This Is Us. He has also received two Tony Award nominations - winning in 2003 for the play Take Me Out.
  • Peters will play Art. He previously starred for five seasons in HBO's The Wire and three seasons in HBO's Treme. He also appeared in the films Da 5 Bloods and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
  • Pullman will play Jack. He previously starred for four seasons in USA's The Sinner and in the Independence Day film franchise.
AMC's THE TALAMASCA
  • Nicholas Denton will play the lead role in the upcoming drama developed by John Lee Hancock and Mark Lafferty. He previously starred in Starz's one-season drama Dangerous Liaisons and recurred on the Australian drama Glitch
  • He will play Guy Anatole. He is brilliant, handsome and sharp on the surface, but he's always known his mind works a little differently. On the cusp of graduating law school, he is approached by a representative of the Talamasca, a secretive agency that monitors and protects us from the supernatural world. When Guy learns the Talamasca has been tracking him since childhood, he falls headlong into a world of secret agents and immortal beings who, up to now, have maintained a fragile balance with the mortal world. But for that balance to hold, and for Guy to survive, he will have to learn to embrace the dark, treacherous depths of his true and singular self.
USA's THE RAINMAKER
  • Robyn Cara has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Milo Callaghan and John Slattery. She currently stars in Netflix's Bodkin, which was released in May 2024. She previously starred for three seasons in AppleTV+'s Trying and in Sky Max's one-season drama The Rising.
  • She will play Kelly Riker, a lonely young woman trapped in an abusive marriage who befriends her neighbor, Rudy Baylor (Callaghan). 
NBC's THE IRRATIONAL
  • Ron Canada will appear in an upcoming episode of the drama's second season. He previously recurred on FX's The Strain, Paramount+'s The Good Fight, Amazon's Jack Ryan, FOX/Hulu's The Orville and Peacock's The Best Man: The Final Chapters
  • He will play Eli Mercer, Alec (Jesse L. Martin) and Kylie's (Travina Springer) father.
NBC's CHICAGO P.D.
  • Shawn Hatosy has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming twelfth season. He previously starred for five seasons in NBC/TNT's Southland and six seasons in TNT's Animal Kingdom. He is also set to recur on FOX's upcoming drama Rescue: HI-Surf and Max's upcoming drama The Pitt.
  • He will play Deputy Chief Charlie Reid, who brings a new dynamic to the Intelligence unit.
PEACOCK's POKER FACE
  • Cynthia Erivo, Margo Martindale and BJ Novak will guest star on the upcoming second season of the anthology dramedy. No details were immediately announced about the characters they will be playing.
  • Erivo won Tony, Grammy and Emmy Awards for her work on the musical revival of The Color Purple in 2016. She also received two Academy Award nominations in 2019 for her starring role in Harriet and co-writing the song "Stand Up."
  • Martindale has received six Emmy Award nominations - winning three for her performances on FX's Justified and FX's The Americans. She also received a Tony Award nomination in 2004 for her role in the play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
  • Novak starred for eight seasons in NBC's The Office, sharing in five of the show's Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Comedy Series as an executive producer.
