FX Orders Drama 'The Beauty' Starring Evan Peters, Anthony Ramos, Jeremy Pope and Ashton Kutcher

FX has today announced its latest collaboration with mega-producer Ryan Murphy. The cable network has given a series order to the original drama series The Beauty based on the comic books of the same name. Production on the 11-episode first season is slated to begin this fall for a 2025 premiere.

The graphic novel centers on an STD that makes those affected beautiful. But the disease, dubbed "the Beauty," eventually kills its hosts as part of a suspected sinister government plot.

The series adaptation will star Evan Peters (Dahmer, Mare of Easttown), Anthony Ramos (Twisters, In the Heights), Jeremy Pope (Hollywood, The Collaboration) and Ashton Kutcher (That '70s Show, The Ranch). No details were immediately announced about the characters they will be playing.

Murphy co-created the series with Matt Hodgson. They will executive produce with Peters, Ramos, Pope, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich and Eric Gitter. 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television will produce.

The series orders comes after six series executive produced by Murphy premiered over the last few weeks - 9-1-1 and Doctor Odyssey on ABC; 9-1-1: Lone Star on FOX; American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez and Grotesquerie on FX; and Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story on Netflix. Meanwhile, a new installment of American Horror Stories launches on October 15 on Hulu. And finally, Murphy will soon begin production on the new legal drama All's Fair for Hulu - featuring Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts and Sarah Paulson in the cast.
