Netflix Picks Up Animated Series 'Midnight Sun' Based on the Novel by Stephenie Meyer

Netflix has today given a series order to the original animated series Midnight Sun based on the novel by Stephenie Meyer. The series is set in the same universe as Meyer's best-selling "Twilight" series which spawned a multibillion-dollar film franchise.

Sinead Daly (Tell Me Lies) is writing the adaptation of the companion novel, a retelling of Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen.

Daly and Meyer will executive produce with Meghan Hibbett, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey. Lionsgate Television, Fickle Fish Films, Temple Hill Entertainment and Picturestart will produce.
