AMC has today decided to cancel its original drama series Parish after one season. The drama completed its 6-episode run on May 5, 2024.
The network released the following statement on the cancellation: "We're so proud of Parish, and thankful for the creative talent involved and the performances they were able to bring to the screen, starting with the remarkable Giancarlo Esposito, Skeet Ulrich and the entire cast. We are unfortunately unable to proceed with a second season, but Season 1 will remain available on AMC+ to fans who want to relive this thrill-ride-of-a-series and those yet to discover it."
The drama starred Giancarlo Esposito, Skeet Ulrich, Zackary Momoh, Paula Malcomson, Ivan Mbakop, Bonnie Mbuli, Arica Himmel and Dax Rey.
Danny Brocklehurst created the drama, with Eduardo Javier Canto and Ryan Maldonado as co-showrunners on the first season. The trio executive produced with Esposito, Jim Poyser, Jolyon Symonds, David Morrissey, Josh Kesselman, Danny Sherman, Barry Jossen, Tana Jamieson, Theo Travers and Nicola Shindler. AMC Studios, A+E Studios and Thruline Entertainment produced.
