After airing its first two episodes, CBS has today renewed its original drama series Matlock for a second season. The series becomes the first new scripted series of the 2024-25 broadcast network schedule to receive a second season renewal.
The drama stars Kathy Bates, Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio and Leah Lewis.
Jennie Snyder Urman created the drama. She executive produces with Bates, Joanna Klein, Eric Christian Olsen, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, John Will and Kat Coiro. CBS Studios, Sutton Street Productions and Cloud Nine Productions produce.
"This reconceived Matlock was devised by Jennie Snyder Urman with a brilliant surprise plot twist, and we knew we had something very special the moment we saw the first episode brought to life by the incredibly talented Kathy Bates," said Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment. "The audience reception and critical acclaim for it has been overwhelming. We can't wait to get started on a second season."
