DISNEY+'s PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS
- Courtney B. Vance has been tapped to succeed the late Lance Reddick in the role of Zeus on the drama's upcoming second season. Reddick notably portrayed the Greek god in the Season 1 finale in what become one of his final on-screen roles after dying in March 2023. Meanwhile, Vance is a two-time Emmy Award winner for his performances in FX's The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and HBO's Lovecraft Country.
- On the casting, executive producer Dan Shotz said, "Finding someone to step into this role going forward was not an easy task, but when icon Courtney B. Vance answered the call, we knew the Gods were listening. This legend of cinema not only wanted to honor the books, but wanted to honor Lance's legacy. We can't wait for you all to see him take the throne."
NBC's SUITS: LA
- Rachelle Goulding and Azita Ghanizada have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Stephen Amell. Goulding previously recurred on Netflix's Firefly Lane and guest starred on CBS' NCIS: Hawaii. Ghanizada starred for two seasons in Syfy's Alphas and recurred on CBS' United States of Al.
- Goulding will play Samantha, a powerful entertainment lawyer in her own right who runs the firm that competes with Ted's (Amell) for top-dog status in Los Angeles. She's also his ex-girlfriend.
- Ghanizada will play Roslyn, Ted's loyal and straight-shooting secretary who's been with him through thick and thin. She serves as a steady hand and sounding board as Ted navigates a new set of professional circumstances.
HBO's HALF MAN
- Jamie Bell will play the co-lead in the upcoming drama created by and starring Richard Gadd. He previously starred for four seasons in AMC's Turn: Washington's Spies and in the AppleTV+ limited series Shining Girls. He also starred in the films Snowpiercer, Fantastic Four, Rocketman and All of Us Strangers.
- The drama follows estranged "brothers" Niall (Bell) and Ruben (Gadd). When Ruben shows up unexpectedly at Niall's wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives. Spanning almost 40 years from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers' relationship, from them meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults - with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry and challenging moments along the way.
PEACOCK's UNTITLED SIMU LIU DRAMA
- Sara Amini has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Simu Liu. She previously starred in AMC's one-season dramedy Lucky Hank and recurred on CBS' CSI: Vegas.
- She will play Ellie, who works with admin support for Alexander's (Liu) new operation.
CBS' ELSBETH
- Matthew Broderick and his real-life son James Wilkie Broderick will appear together in an upcoming episode of the drama's second season. The father has received three Tony Award nominations - winning twice for his roles in the play Brighton Beach Memoirs and the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. His son previously guest starred on AppleTV+'s Lady in the Lake.
- The elder Broderick will play Lawrence Grey. When Manhattan's elite want to make sure their offspring get into the prep school and then college of their choice, Lawrence is the man to call no matter their grades, test scores or personality. His expertise and connections make him rich and powerful, but when someone threatens his perch, he is driven to murder.
- The younger Broderick will play Carl, a top "success trainer" at Lawrence Grey's company, Outmatch Educational Consulting, who is helping the offspring of Manhattan's super-rich make it into the Ivy League.
FOX's THE CLEANING LADY
- Daniel Bonjour and Alain Uy have booked recurring roles on the drama's upcoming fourth season. Bonjour previously recurred on The CW's iZombie, Hulu's Black Cake and ABC's The Rookie. Uy recurred on ABC's Station 19 and Starz's Power Book IV: Force.
- Bonjour will play Dr. Dupont, an overworked attending physician at a clinic serving one of Las Vegas' poorest neighborhoods. He emigrated from France years ago because doctors here make more money than they do anywhere else in the world - at least that's the reason he gives publicly. DuPont hides his deep caring behind his good looks, quick humor and jaded attitude. A sharp critic of the American medical system and his hospital administration, DuPont can be demanding, ironic and often rude, but he saves a surprisingly tender bedside manner for patients. Despite his grumbling, DuPont loves the chaos of his underfunded E.R. It's the only place in the world where he makes sense.
- Uy will play Feng, who is wryly observant but with a dangerous side. He has a knack for running elaborate schemes for the Asian mob and has become an asset to international crime bosses worldwide. He started as an actor in Hong Kong, typically playing the sidekick to the hunky, Kung Fu star du jour but has since grown into a shrewd and calculating leader. Now, with the access he has to high-powered criminals, Feng is just waiting for his moment to manipulate the situation and take control.
