AppleTV+ has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Dope Thief starring Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura.
The 8-episode first season will debut on Friday, March 14 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Friday until the season finale on April 25.
Based on the novel by Dennis Tafoya, the series follows longtime Philly friends and delinquents (Henry, Moura) who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-tie grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern Seaboard.
In addition to Henry and Moura, the drama stars Marin Ireland, Kate Mulgrew, Nesta Cooper, Amir Arison and Ving Rhames.
Peter Craig developed the drama. He executive produces with Henry, David W. Zucker, Richard Heus, Jordan Sheehan, Clayton Krueger, Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and director Ridley Scott. Apple Studios and Scott Free Productions produce.
