Max has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series The Pitt starring Noah Wyle.
The 15-episode first season will launch on Thursday, January 9 with its first two episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly every Thursday until the season finale on April 10.
The drama is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Each episode follows an hour of Dr. Robby's (Wyle) 15-hour shift as the chief attendant in Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital's emergency room.
In addition to Wyle, the drama stars Tracey Ifeachor, Patrick Ball, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Katherine LaNasa.
R. Scott Gemmill created the drama. He executive produces with Wyle, John Wells, Erin Jontow, Simran Baidwan and Michael Hissrich. Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions produce.
