ABC has settled on the location for its first 9-1-1 spinoff: Nashville! The broadcast network has today given a series order to 9-1-1: Nashville from franchise co-creators Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear. The drama will premiere during the upcoming 2025-26 broadcast season.
9-1-1 was envisioned as a multi-series franchise when it first debuted on FOX in January 2018. The drama transitioned to ABC starting with Season 7. It is currently in the middle of Season 8. Meanwhile, its first spinoff 9-1-1: Lone Star set in Austin, Texas concluded its entire five-season run on FOX earlier this month. The original series has not yet been renewed for Season 9 but looks likely to continue.
Every since the original series moved to ABC, the broadcast network has wanted its own spinoff of the popular procedural. Several potential locations were explored for the new setting - including Las Vegas and Hawaii. Ultimately, Nashville prevailed due to tax credits offered to the proposed series.
Murphy and Minear co-created the new spinoff alongside Rashad Raisani. They will executive produce alongside Angela Bassett and Brad Falchuk. 20th Television and Ryan Murphy Television produce.
