"Missing While Misidentified" was written by Sonay Hoffman and directed by Nikhil Paniz

Gabi's life was ruined by Sir. She was perfect and happy before meeting him. His obsession with her was all-consuming and destructive. It forced both to take drastic actions. Gabi blamed Sir for her father's death. Her mother's death didn't break the family. Gabi's disappearance ignited her father's alcoholism. That remained a constant plague until his death. Gabi can't blame her father. She loved him too much. Sir was the target of her vitriol. He was deserving of it too. And yet, Gabi isn't a killer. She can never pull the trigger. Sir survives against all the odds. He maintains some semblance of control too. Gabi wants to atone for her mistakes. Her confession isn't good enough to sustain a criminal conviction. Trent ultimately needs Sir to corroborate her story. Sir refuses to do so. He endorses Gabi's public image. She could never be capable of doing something so monstrous. She isn't like him. She would never engage in such depravity. She did though. She saved many lives because of the arrangement she had with Sir. She has continued to do solid work after his escape. So much remains perilous. The M&A team is willing to fight for her. She doesn't want them to risk their lives. Yet they are reunited once more. She continues to evade punishment because Sir has his own ulterior motives.

Key moments of escalation between Gabi and Sir also line up with infection points in the investigation of Jamie's disappearance. He finally returned to the bus station. Margaret's theory of always waiting there was proven correct. She can stop looking now. Her family is whole once more. And yet, he isn't eager to share what happened to him or meet the rest of the family. In fact, he is more intrigued about the work M&A does. He shows a keen interest in Gabi. He has expectations for their meeting. He wonders why she is missing. The team rallies around Margaret. They seek to protect her. They have to verify that this story is true. They don't want to get Margaret's hopes up. It's only been a week since her suicide attempt. A lot of events have happened since then. She hasn't had the time to properly reflect on her mental well-being. She's simply been charged to keep moving forward with work. Of course, Dhan was shot during this time as well. His recovery has been pretty immediate. Every moment is precious in this line of work. It's the difference between finding someone alive or dead. The team feels that sense of urgency. It also means they have little time to devote to their personal lives.

The police previously came to Margaret with the possibility of Jamie's body being discovered. Remains were found underneath the station. Multiple renovations have occurred over the years. The body could have been placed there at any point. Margaret breaks upon positively identifying Jamie's shoes. That's a crucial clue that has been missing from the investigation so far. Whatever happened to Jamie required him losing what could easily identify him. Gabi tries her best to calm Margaret. In the end, she achieves that by discovering who the victim actually was. That's the first case Gabi and Sir worked together. She doesn't question how he knows so much about what she has been doing in her career. It stems from the publicity Gabi has garnered through her work. Meanwhile, Sir listens in on the conversations happening above. He wishes to prove his worth. That value saves his life. It did so on multiple occasions throughout the first season. This was an arrangement Gabi could live with. It was still corrosive to her soul. She sacrificed a piece of herself by allowing Sir into her world again. She became the monster. She saw the benefit. She wanted this to happen. It was her prior version of atonement. She wanted to give back after he took so much from her and her family. That didn't provide peace. It only offered more destruction. That's true with everything Sir touches. That doesn't disappear after he is arrested either.

While clarity comes in the flashbacks, ambiguity still radiates in the present day. Gabi and Trent don't know what Sir is planning. Moreover, no one knows if Jamie is telling the truth. He doesn't have the identifying mole on the back of his elbow. That seems pretty damning. Plus, Zeke discovers footage of Jamie spying on Margaret multiple times at the station. She hasn't been in that environment for awhile. And so, this was a possibility long before he finally approached her. As such, it's incredibly convenient that it happens the moment Gabi gets arrested. Gabi and Dhan follow that rational belief. They need more proof. They don't accuse Jamie of being an imposter. They welcome him as part of the family. Dhan knows what it's like to be abducted and forgotten. He was put back together by everyone at M&A. He gives all of them that credit. He is much more open and honest about his feelings now. He still makes mistakes. He is also able to extend grace to those who need it. He follows Gabi's example. She taught everyone how to excel in this work. That still requires them to be skeptical. Information they receive may be deceitful. People may be trying to manipulate them for some devious reasons. They each have to be smart and concise with their actions. Results don't come back right away on if there is a connection between Margaret and Jamie. Dhan knows there is more to this story. It's being shielded at the moment. That's frustrating to an extent. This moment felt inevitable in some ways. The show just has to be delicate in how it advances the story in a way that still surprises the viewer.
