Prime Video has today renewed its original comedy series Jury Duty for a second season. The series was originally released on Freevee. However, that platform's programming moved to Prime Video after it shut down last year.
Taking inspiration from classic 1980s movies such as Animal House and Caddyshack, the second installment will follow a small business going on a company retreat, with the real, unsuspected person tested when a Goliath suddenly shows up.
Production on the new installment of the Emmy-nominated series has already been completed. Secrecy was required to maintain the central premise of the show. The cast and premiere date will be revealed at a later date.
Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky created the comedy. They executive produce with David Bernad, Ruben Fleischer, Nicholas Hatton, Cody Heller, Todd Schulman, Jake Szymanski and Andrew Weinberg. Amazon MGM Studios, The District, Picrow and Piece of Work Entertainment produce.
