Casting News - LL Cool J to Appear in April Episode of 'NCIS'; 'Resident Alien' Stages 'Firefly' Reunion; Plus 5 More Updates!

AppleTV+'s Dark Matter; CBS' NCIS & Tracker; HBO's Lanterns; NBC's Suits LA; Showtime's Dexter: Resurrection; and USA's Resident Alien.





CBS' NCIS
  • LL Cool J will reprise his NCIS: Los Angeles in an upcoming episode of the drama's 22nd season. He previously portrayed NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna for all fourteen seasons of the Los Angeles-based spinoff and as a recurring guest star on the third season of NCIS: Hawai'i.
  • No details were immediately announced about how the character will appear in the April 21 episode.
SHOWTIME's DEXTER: RESURRECTION
  • David Magidoff will reprise his Dexter: New Blood role as a recurring guest star on the upcoming sequel starring Michael C. Hall. He previously appeared in all 10 episodes of the New Blood limited series. He also recurred on AppleTV+'s The Morning Show
  • He plays Teddy Reed, who works for the Iron Lake Police Department.
CBS' TRACKER
  • Pej Vahdat has landed a recurring role on the drama's second season. He previously recurred on The CW's Dynasty, Showtime's City on a Hill and FX's The Old Man.
  • He will play Leonard Sharf, a demanding client of Reenie's (Fiona Rene) who is out for leverage against one of the founding partners of his company. Willing to throw any amount of money at the problem, he enlists Reenie to do his dirty work and insists on making sure there's no paper trail to connect the two of them.
APPLE TV+'s DARK MATTER
  • Amanda Brugel has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming second season. Furthermore, Chris Diamantopoulos has been cast in a recurring role. Brugel recurred during the first season - appearing in five episodes overall. Diamantopoulos previously starred for two seasons in HBO's Silicon Valley and in the Netflix limited series True Story.
  • Brugel plays Blaire, Daniella's (Jennifer Connelly) close friend.
  • No details were released about the character Diamantopoulos will be playing.
USA's RESIDENT ALIEN
  • Jewel Staite will stage a Firefly reunion on the dramedy's upcoming fourth season. She and series star Alan Tudyk previously starred together in the one-season drama on FOX. She currently stars in Global/The CW's Family Law, which has been renewed for a fourth season.
  • She will recur as Jules Gardner, an FBI agent assigned to the Colorado Springs field office who also happened to go to high school with Asta (Sara Tomko), Liv (Elizabeth Bowen), D'arcy (Jenna Lamia) and Ben (Levi Fiehler). She arrives in town having been assigned a case involving a series of gruesome murders that have occurred in and around Patience.
HBO's LANTERNS
  • J. Alphonse Nicholson has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre. He currently stars in Starz's P-Valley, which has been renewed for a third season. He also recurred on the FX limited series Clipped.
  • He will play the young version of John Senior.
NBC's SUITS LA
  • David Costabile is the latest Suits alum to make a guest appearance on the spinoff during its first season. He joined the original series as a recurring guest star in its second season and reprised the role in its fourth, fifth and eighth seasons. He also starred for seven seasons in Showtime's Billions.
  • Costabile plays Daniel Hardman, a former partner at Pearson Hardman who was forced out of the firm for embezzling money and always schemed to take over the firm again.
