Paramount+ has today renewed its original drama series Landman for a second season. An episode count and premiere date window were not immediately announced.
The drama stars Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Paulina Chavez, Kayla Wallace, Mark Collie, James Jordan and Jon Hamm.
Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace developed the drama based on the podcast "Boomtown" from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly. They executive produce with Thornton, David C. Glasser, David Hutkin, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, Stephen Kay, Dan Friedkin, Jason Hoch, J.K. Nickell and Megan Creydt. MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly produce.
"Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan's unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-Western themes of rugged individualism, ambition and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth," said Chris McCarthy. "The series has helped drive Paramount+ to new heights as the number two SVOD in the U.S. for Original Hours Watched in Q4, alongside our other hit series Tulsa King, The Agency, Lioness and Dexter: Original Sin."
